anka Special Steels Ltd (LSSL) is a fully owned subsidiary of E. B. Creasy & Co., PLC that was founded by Edward Bennet Creasy in 1878. Over the years E. B. Creasy has expanded by organic growth as well as by strategic acquisitions and now constitutes a diversified group spanning a wide spectrum of activities ranging from import, export, distribution and freight forwarding to formulating and trading in chemicals, hoteliering, renewable energy and plantation management.

Lanka Special Steels Ltd (LSSL) was incorporated in Sri Lanka under BOI in November 2003 after Tata Steel Ltd India acquired the business of Mascon Wire Industries. It was Tata Steel’s first overseas acquisition. After completing successful 10 years in Sri Lanka Tata Steel has decided divest its 100% stake in LSSL due to strategic reasons. LSSL was acquired by E.B. Creasy & Co., PLC in March 2015.

Lanka Special Steels Ltd is the largest domestic manufacturer of Galvanizing Wire in Sri Lanka. The Company has wire drawing and galvanizing facilities of 15,000 MT / year. The plant is equipped with high –speed wire drawing machines, Galvanizing Furnace with in-line Annealing Furnace. The production facility operates with ISO 9001: 2008 certification and the GI products are certified as per SLS 139 : 2003.

The manufacturing product range covers Hot dipped Galvanized Steel Wires in the size range from 1.20 mm to 5.00 mm in diameters and Zinc coatings up to class A of SLS 139 : 2003 catering to a variety of applications, such as for Barbed wire, Chain Link Fencing, Welded Mesh, Coir Mats etc. Nail wire product range covers from 1.20mm to 6.00mm in diameter. The raw materials for manufacturing galvanized wire are obtained from reputed international sources.
