Lanka Special Steels Limited (Lanka SSL) is widely recognised as the largest and most established manufacturer of galvanized iron wire in Sri Lanka.
With a strong focus on quality, reliability and customer satisfaction, we manufacture a comprehensive range of galvanized and mild steel wire products for agriculture, construction, infrastructure development, industry and residential use. An extensive, well-integrated island-wide distribution network keeps our products — sold under the well-known LAXAPANA brand — consistently available across Sri Lanka.

An import-only market
Sri Lanka’s steel wire needs were met entirely through imports.
Local manufacturing begins
Industrialist Mr. Mahenthiran Subramanium pioneers steel wire production in Sri Lanka.
Tata Steel acquisition
Tata Steel acquires Mascon Wire Industries’ hot-dip galvanizing business — its first overseas acquisition. Lanka SSL is incorporated under the BOI in November.
Part of E.B. Creasy
In March, E.B. Creasy & Co. PLC acquires the company, strengthening its local identity while retaining global standards.

PVC-coated and galvanized chain link fences join the LAXAPANA range.
